Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc., (KEC) of Reno, Nevada, is a small company currently accepting applications for field technicians for upcoming excavation and survey projects. Survey projects are located in rural Nevada (e.g., outside Tonopah, Winnemucca, Wells, etc.) and excavations are in Reno, Nevada. Transportation is provided from Reno to the project area; meal allowance and single-occupancy lodging will be provided on workdays for non-local projects. Non-local projects are run on 8-on/6-off work schedules. Local projects will generally be scheduled Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Local projects are not eligible for meal allowance and lodging. Projects are beginning immediately, and work is expected to last the duration of the field season and into the off season (weather dependent).
Employees can expect to assist field supervisors and project managers in the following tasks:
Compensation: The pay is $23-26 an hour, depending on experience. Meal allowance for projects outside of the greater Reno area is $60/day. There are opportunities for advancement into salaried staff positions.

Qualifications: Preferred applicants should have at least one year of field experience in California/Great Basin and an undergraduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology. However, other applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time; lift at least 30 lbs.; and hike 10+ miles per day in rough terrain and weather conditions.
