Āina Archaeology (ʻĀina) is currently accepting applications to fill one or more permanent, full-time Archaeology Field Technician positions at our Kihei, Maui location.
Archaeology Field Technicians will report directly to the Field Supervisor and Principal Archaeologist and be responsible for conducting intensive archaeological survey, excavation, and monitoring of construction or other ground-disturbing activities.
Field technicians are expected to have their own personal survey gear (backpack, water bottles, clipboard, 5-m hand tape, engineers scale, compass, writing implements, and personal dig kit [trowel, line level, brushes, etc.]). Non-field work tasks may be assigned on occasion (e.g. faunal analysis, artifact analysis, historical research, technical writing, CAD work, or GIS work).
*Must be able to travel off-island and conduct fieldwork for long hours and extended periods (at times in inclement weather and across rugged terrain).
