Positions Available: 

Archaeological Field Technicians 

Location: 

The project is in the vicinity of Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Pay Rate:  

• Field Technician: $18.38 per hour plus an additional Health and Welfare payment of $4.41 per hour (for up to 40 hours per week). 
• The health and welfare benefit is paid as a lump sum at the end of the project. 
• Overtime pay at a rate of 1.5 times your normal rate for hours worked exceeding 40 in a calendar week (Sunday to Saturday).
• Overtime pay at $27.57/hour

Project Duration: 
November 27 – December 16

Project Mobilization & Demobilization 
Mobilization (November 27)

• Will be paid once at the start of the project. 
• Up to 8 hours of drive time allotted. 
• Mileage at $0.625/mile for up to 500 miles. 
• $45 per diem for travel day. 

Demobilization  (December 16)

• Will be paid once at the end of the project. 
• Up to 8 hours of drive time allotted. 
• Mileage at $0.625/mile for up to 500 miles. 
• $45 per diem for travel day.

Project Work Schedule:  

• 6 days on/1 day off  
• Sunday will be the day off. 
• Approximately 8-10 hour work days. 

Per Diem:  

• $50/day (no receipts required). 
• Direct deposited biweekly. 
• If funds for the week are needed sooner, ESI allows one per diem advance per year. 

Accommodations:  

• Single occupancy hotel rooms. 
• Lodging and Per Diem will be provided during the 1 day off. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• BA in anthropology, archaeology, or related field. 
• Completed an archaeological field school as part of their education OR 3-6 months of relevant field experience. 

Requirements: 

• Able to travel and work in the field for extended periods of time. 
• Comfortable working in remote locations on projects that require walking and carrying 30+ lbs. gear for extended periods of time. 
• Must be able to pass all pre-hire screenings. 
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
