Archaeological Field Technicians/Northeast Archaeology Research Center Temporary

The Northeast Archaeology Research Center Inc. in Farmington, Maine is seeking archaeological field technicians for work in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont for a variety of projects starting as soon as possible and lasting throughout the fall (mid to late November).  These projects will include Ph I, II and multiple Ph III Data recoveries.

• Pay will range from $18 to $22 per hour depending on applicant’s experience.
• Per diem will be $50/day.
•  Single occupancy hotel rooms, hotel rooms may be provided on off days. 

Archaeological field technicians must possess basic archaeological field skills and conditions including:

• Ability to carry 40 lbs. over rough terrain during the course of an 8-hour workday
• Ability to stand for long hours and walk over long distances
• Ability to work in extreme climatic conditions, wet, cold or hot weather
• Ability to clearly communicate with archaeological supervisors (field director or crew chief)
• Ability to work independently and in a team in the field
