Are you looking to get in on some of the most exciting archaeology in the Pacific Northwest? Look no further! Stell Environmental, a small business with a dedicated team of energetic “type-2” fun archaeologists, needs you! We’re currently seeking project-based Field Archaeologists to join us on challenging survey projects in the Cascades, Columbia Plateau, and Northern Great Basin. We’re working with high density late-pleistocene to mid-holocene occupation and resource acquisition areas – no boring DOT surveys here. Here’s what you need to know:

The Ideal Candidates:

• We’re searching for folks with previous experience in the CRM industry, especially in field survey in remote areas. Show us what you’ve got!
• When it comes to physical stamina, we need someone who can handle it all. Steep slopes,mountains,bushwhacking,rockyoutcrops, mountain lions-younameit!You’llconquerthe wild for 10 hours or more at a time in remote conditions.
• If you’re from the Pacific Northwest, that’s a huge plus. We love having locals who know the lay of the land.
• Safety first! Make sure you have a valid driver’s license and can pass an MVD authorization. Wilderness first aid probably couldn’t hurt.
• Ideally, you’re a knapping nerd who knows their lithics and can do some analysis on the fly.
• Your field clothes aren’t nicer than the Crew Leads dress clothes (you’ve probably been doing this 2 years or more).

Job Responsibilities:

• As a field technician, you’ll be diving headfirst into archaeological field survey, site recording, artifact identification, mapping, paperwork completion, and rocking those tablets and electronic field equipment. We’re looking for someone who can handle it all like a pro!

Compensation and Benefits:

• We believe in fair compensation, so we offer a competitive pay range starting at $21/hr, based on your experience. Your hard work deserves recognition!
• Picture this: some projects require overnight stays in hotels or camping. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered with single occupancy lodging and per diem starting at $58/day. And if we’re roughing it out in the great outdoors, additional per diem will be provided for camping sessions. We’ve got your back!
• We value your time and flexibility, so we strive to give you as much notice as possible when scheduling sessions. Let’s find that perfect balance together.
