Historian and Archeologist Kay Wood founded Southern Research in 1993 with her husband Dean Wood. Thirty years later, we are still a small town, small business with broad capabilities, an experienced staff, and a proven track record. With over 200 years of combined experience, our small, tight-knit group is both well-versed in the various laws, regulations, and processes governing cultural resources compliance and deeply familiar with the archaeology and history of Georgia and surrounding states. We offer a wide variety of historic preservation services, customizing our approach to the exact needs of a given project to help our clients navigate the process quickly and efficiently.
