MUSEUM CURATOR II – CULTURAL RESOURCES / REGISTRATION PROGRAM
The reporting location for this position is McClellan, Ca. This position will work under the general direction of the Museum Curator III.
This position is directly responsible for organizing and managing the program of acquisition, conservation, registration, interpretation, and storage of museum objects at the Statewide Museum Collections Center (SMCC). Position requires the ability to implement a registration and control system for collections management; supervise subordinate staff engaged in curatorial and preservation duties; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals, organizations, Native American tribes, government agencies, museums, researchers, and the public in carrying out these duties. In addition to statewide program responsibilities, the incumbent in this position requires the ability to implement a registration and control system for collections management; supervise subordinate staff engaged in curatorial and preservation duties; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals, organizations, Native American tribes, government agencies, museums, researchers, and the public in carrying out these duties. The position requires intermittent travel throughout the State and occasional irregular work hours.
