Lawhon & Associates, Inc. (L&A) is seeking up to 5 qualified field technicians for an upcoming large-scale cemetery excavation project in Columbus, Ohio. The fieldwork is anticipated to begin February 27th (or sooner) and will last until approximately March 31st. The current work schedule consists of five 8-hour days (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday and may be expanded to five 10-hour days with overtime paid at time and a half. Compensation is $16.00 per hour. We will be providing single occupancy hotel accommodations and per diem ($40/day) for non-local field techs.

Qualified candidates will ideally have a bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year experience conducting archaeological surveys, completion of an archaeological field school, and previous experience with large-scale excavation is desired. Candidates with relevant experience in burial excavations in a CRM setting will be given preference. The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, sufficient physical endurance to conduct standard archaeological excavation techniques, attention to detail, work reliability, and the ability to work well with others are essential to the position. Work is primarily completed in conditioned tents, limiting exposure to winter weather. Drug testing is required by the Construction Manager.
