Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Archaeology Technician for employment in our Portland, OR office.

This is a part-time position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

 	
Conduct all aspects of archaeological field work, including survey, site recordation, site testing and evaluations, monitoring, and data recovery.
 	
Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units.
 	
Conduct technical research and writing for reporting efforts.
 	
Analyze and document prehistoric and historic sites and artifacts.
 	
Work independently under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 	
HS graduate + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
 	
Current valid driver’s license and U.S. government issued identification required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 	
Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field.
 	
A minimum of one (1) years of experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring required; experience in Pacific Northwest preferred.
 	
Experience with Geospatial technology including GPS and GIS.

Additional Information

Due to nature of this role, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $18.00 to $31.00 per hour. AECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees. Depending on your employment status.
