R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. in New Orleans, Louisiana has openings for project-based field archaeologists for project-based employment. This includes Phase I projects located across the Southeastern United States, primarily in Louisiana and Mississippi, though projects in other locales may be available. The durations of these projects range from approximately 1 to 3 months and include work conducted in various types of environments. The projects typically are mobilized from our New Orleans office and conducted as a ten-day on/four day off work rotation. Lodging and per diem reimbursements (no receipts required) will be provided on working days. Lodging is not provided on days off.
Minimum qualifications include a B.A./B.S. in Archeology/ Anthropology. Successful completion of an accredited archaeological field school, prior field experience, and familiarity with GPS data collectors (i.e., Trimbles) is desirable.
Based on merit, this position may become permanent for the right candidate(s). Permanent positions include paid holidays; health and dental insurance; annual leave; and the opportunity to participate in a 401(k) program. The compensation is competitive and commensurate with educational and professional experience. Permanent positions require relocation to Southeastern Louisiana.
