Environmental Solutions & Innovations, Inc is looking for field technicians for upcoming Phase I work throughout the Midwest. The payrate is $18.00/hr. plus individual hotel rooms and $55/day per diem for eligible persons. Successful applicants must have a degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or a related field and must have completed at least one field school. CRM archaeology experience is a plus. 
 
Responsibilities and Work Tasks

Locates and records cultural features using standard archaeological survey and excavation techniques and tools.  
Identifies artifacts and potential artifacts, cultural features, and significant natural conditions.  
Recognizes conditions that may require reevaluation of strategy or additional investigation. 
Maps and draws archaeological units, features and architectural features. 
Takes photos of excavation units, structures, and survey areas. 
Maintains an accurate record of excavation and survey field work. 
Performs required physical work in adverse environmental conditions. 
Performs a range of tasks that require adhering to a consistent standard. 
Consulates with co-workers and/or the field supervisor for clarification. 
Maintains workable relations with other members of the crew. 
 

Minimum Qualifications

B.A. in Anthropology or Related Field
A completed Archaeological Field School from an accredited institution. 
 

Requirements:

Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day over uneven, sometimes steep, heavily vegetated terrain carrying up to 25 lbs. of equipment.
Ability to systematically excavate natural soil strata using hand tools to include shovels and trowels at the rate necessary to complete the project schedule.
