CHRS, Inc. (Lansdale, PA) is seeking temporary archaeological field technicians for upcoming fieldwork in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Overnight travel may be required; per diem and lodging (single occupancy) will be provided for all project work requiring overnight stays. There is the potential for ongoing employment based on project needs.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field, or one (1) year prior field experience. Completion of accredited field school preferred. Current driver’s license in good standing required. Applicants local to Gloucester County, NJ or the CHRS office in Lansdale, PA will be given preference.
Field technicians must possess the ability to identify prehistoric and historic material in the field, record clear and complete field notes, and have knowledge of basic archaeological field skills. Applicants must demonstrate the physical endurance to conduct physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions including, but not limited to: hot and cold weather, precipitation and remote and rugged locations. The primary responsibility of a field technician is to perform archaeological fieldwork; however, work may extend to the laboratory as needed.
Starting hourly wage is $15, commensurate with experience.
