Primary Responsibilities
HDR, Alaska Inc. needs motivated archaeological crew chiefs for the 2023 field season in Alaska (May – October). The position may require pedestrian survey and/or archaeological monitoring; however, the candidate should expect to spend the majority of his or her time conducting data recovery. This is a seasonal full-time position based out of the HDR office in Anchorage, Alaska.
The candidate must meet the Secretary of Interior (SOI)-qualifications as an Archaeologist. The successful candidate will lead archaeological field crews in pedestrian survey and data recovery efforts. Candidates should be familiar with: fieldwork planning, execution, and documentation; quality control review processes; and interpretation and processing of field data. The successful applicant will be eligible for the ACRA Healthcare Program.
Archaeological crew chiefs are required to perform the following tasks in the field while working under supervision of the Field Director:
