Provenience Group, Inc. (PGI) seeks to hire archaeologists for upcoming fieldwork projects in California. Work will include various archaeological projects, including pedestrian surveys, site recordation, mapping, excavation, and construction monitoring.  Applicants will be detail-oriented when completing field forms and reports.  Projects will vary from small surveys and preparation of Section 106 reports to large-scale surveys and construction monitoring.  Must be able to work independently, and experience with GPS is preferred.  Fieldwork may entail strenuous physical labor and walking over rough terrain and/or through dense brush.
At a minimum, an undergraduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology and demonstrated experience working in archaeology is required, but M.A. level archaeologists are also needed for crew chief positions. 
Prior archaeological experience along the central coastal and southern California areas are preferred, but not required.  Selected applicants will be home-based and not required to report to an office.  Employment will be on-call to start but may change to full-time in the future. 
Compensation is commensurate with past experience, skills, education, and productivity. Wage range is $25 to $30/hr.
