This position will be filled as a Job Appointment. In the event that funds become available for a permanent position, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
This position is located at the Office of State Museum in New Orleans, LA and is in a Career Progression Group to a Curator 3. This position may be filled as a Curator 1, 2, or 3 based on the qualifications of the selected applicant.This position will be filled using the Museum option.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any of the following will qualify (see note below regarding options):
- Historic Site Option: A baccalaureate degree in American history, American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art history, geology, cultural geography, museology, history, or historical geography.
- Museum Option: A baccalaureate degree in American history, American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art history, cultural geography, historic preservation, history, historical geography, museum studies, museology, or fine arts.
- Preservation Area Option: A baccalaureate degree in forestry, wildlife or natural resource management, botany, biology, or ecology.
- Historic Preservation Option: A baccalaureate degree in American history, American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art history, geology, cultural geography, museology, history, or historical geography.
NOTE:
All positions are of the Historic Site, Preservation Area, Historic Preservation or Museum type.The minimum qualification option used to fill a vacancy is based upon the duties of the particular position and will be specified in the vacancy announcement when posted.

Functional over lower ranking museum or historic area personnel.Location of Work:
Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism; Office of State Parks, Office of State Museum, Office of Cultural Development, Division of Historic Preservation; or Department of State or other agency responsible for operating a small museum (visitation of less than 50,000; less than 5 permanent employees).Job Distinctions:
