Stone Point Services, LLC. Is seeking to fill a full-time Junior Archeologist position in southeast Texas. The applicant must be capable of all levels of field investigations (Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III) and must work well in a crew setting. Technical report writing experience is a plus. Qualifications must include, at a minimum, a master’s degree in anthropology or a closely related field. The Junior Archeologist position will include training in field supervision and fieldwork. The purpose of this position is to provide training leading to a full archeologist position.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will range from $47,000 to $55,000/year. Stone Point Services provides company paid health insurance, paid time off, and company holidays. This position will be a work from home position based in southeast Texas. The exact location within southeast Texas is negotiable. The position will require that you travel from your home office to project areas relatively often. Stone Point Services has been serving the south-central US for over ten years and employs archeologists, historians, technicians, and GIS specialists.
Position Requirements

An MA/MS or Ph.D. in anthropology with a focus in terrestrial archeology preferred
Experience in archaeological fieldwork
Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS units, tablets, cameras)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with the ability to meet deadlines
The ability to work well on a team and individually and in adverse conditions
A working knowledge of Section 106 and state and federal regulations and environmental review processes and requirements
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
