ONEIDA Sustainment and Restoration Services (SRS) is pleased to announce that our subsidiary company, LG2 Environmental Solutions (LG2ES) in Jacksonville, Florida is hiring Archaeologists with the ability to conduct archaeological monitoring projects and/or other field investigations for a variety of federal, state, and local agency clients, as well as private organizations. Projects may be located throughout the United States or Caribbean, with a majority currently in the Southeast and Southwest regions. Full-Time Salary positions are available. Office locations are flexible and include Jacksonville, Florida, Savannah or Atlanta, Georgia, or other locations in the southeast and southwest.
Duties of the Archaeologist will include development and implementation of research designs, work plans, schedules, fieldwork, and analysis and reporting assisted by a team of qualified project managers, archaeologists, researchers, and other scientists. Responsibilities of the Archaeologist may include management and supervision of archaeological projects, including survey, site evaluation, and site mitigation and other duties as assigned. Additional duties would depend on the experience level of the applicant, but may include marketing, proposal development, client coordination, and regulatory consultation.
Travel is expected as part of conducting cultural resources fieldwork, but, on average, approximately 60 percent of the year would be spent in a local office or at a local project. In the field, applicants may need to work out of town for extended periods, collect data in extreme climate conditions, and must work well in teams at remote locations. The archaeological lab is currently located in Jacksonville, Florida and preference will be given to individuals who can show experience or willingness to incorporate the identification and analysis of both historic and prehistoric materials being processed there together with other work duties.
