Due to continued growth, our Environmental Services Group is seeking a Part-Time Principal Investigator Level Archeologist to join our team in the south-central region. This position location is flexible and may report to ENERCON’s offices in Oklahoma, Texas, or Louisiana. This position will require approximately 50% fieldwork and 50% remote office work.
 
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

Perform archaeological investigations;
Participate in cultural resources survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring projects;
Record data through standardized forms, notes, photographs, and scaled drawings;
Effectively interact with relevant regulatory agencies, stakeholder groups, landowners, and clients;
Conduct background research prior to fieldwork;
Use GPS systems to document fieldwork;
Contribute to and review technical reports and other deliverables;
Provide archaeological support and assistance to clients and internal teams;
Prepare and present regulatory and best practices programs related to archaeological resources;
Conduct field and office work with a focus on safe and sustainable practices.
Good physical conditioning is required for this position. Applicant must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and be comfortable in remote job locations. Position may require walking several miles a day in rough terrain carrying equipment. Travel is generally within central U.S. but may extend beyond this range. Overnight travel on short notice is possible.

 
Required Qualifications / skills 

Applicant must meet the U.S. Secretary of the Interior qualifications for Archeology with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology and 10 years experience OR Appropriate industry-recognized licenses or certifications indicating achievement in the field of Archaeology/Anthropology AND 12 years of applicable experience.
Applicants qualified as a Principal Investigator in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and surrounding states are highly preferred;
Applicant should have at least five years of demonstrated experience performing the listed position responsibilities;
Position requires travel, and the ability to spend extended periods in the field, working long days, hiking rough terrain in rugged conditions in hot or cold environments, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Applicant must pass a pre-employment and random drug test.
Applicant must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, good organizational skills, and ability to use technology.
Applicant must be willing to follow directions and have the demonstrated ability to work within a team setting to provide excellent technical services.
Preference will be given to applicants local to Texas, Oklahoma Louisiana, and adjacent states.

 
Preferred Qualifications / skills 

Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
