Job Duties:
Cottonwood Archaeology is hiring a Lead Archaeologist position whose duties will include but are not limited to:
Project management
Client and agency personnel communications
Fieldwork including survey, site recordation, monitoring, and excavation
Writing and reviewing reports
QAQC
Supervision of staff
Working remotely for office work is a possibility
Requirements:
A qualified candidates should possess:
A graduate degree in anthropology or archaeology
Meet the Secretary of Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation A minimum of 2 years of professional and progressive experience in Cultural Heritage Management with at least 1 years of experience in the Great Basin and Southwest regions, Utah experience highly preferred.
Working knowledge of Utah and federal regulations and agency requirements related to archaeology and historic preservation
Experience managing projects and crews
A positive and respectful attitude and work ethic
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
The ability to meet deadlines and produce strong reports
The ability to work independently
Working knowledge of GIS preferred
