Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking curriculum vitae from qualified candidates for a Project Archaeologist in Reno, NV. This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position. Candidates may have a specialty in historical, industrial, or prehistoric archaeology, or in architectural history. The successful candidate will be expected to manage cultural resources projects, communicate with clients and government agencies, prepare proposals, manage project budgets, and write compliance reports and other project deliverables. While the successful candidate will work from Broadbent’s Reno office, they will actively collaborate with the cultural resources team in Denver. The candidate must demonstrate a mix of office and field skills.
Broadbent is an engineering and environmental consulting company founded in 1987. With over 100 employees, Broadbent serves a range of clients from in the western United States. Broadbent’s cultural resources team currently includes five professional full-time staff in our Reno office and two staff-level archaeologists in our Denver office. The cultural resources department is led by Ms. Margo Memmott out of the Reno office. Our cultural resources team is supported by an ArcGIS/Database Specialist, Broadbent’s administrative staff, and an additional network of temporary/seasonal field staff.
M.A. in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History, or a closely related field
Qualify as a Crew Chief Statewide in Nevada for federally issued Archaeological Resources Protection Act permits and State permits
Training and experience implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
At least five years of experience managing clients and projects
Ability to perform both fieldwork activities and office tasks independently or with a team
Demonstrated ability to write/produce reports, treatment plans, and other written communication deliverables to the standards defined by the involved federal agencies and State
Historic Preservation Office guidance.
Weekly schedule of either 30 or 40 hours. Flexible work location - hybrid, work-from-home, or office. Out-of-town fieldwork as required. Annual salary is between $52,000 and $72,800 (based on 40-hour week), commensurate with education, training, and experience.
