Summary About the Position: Serves as a Historian in the Multimedia and Publications Division with the U.S. Army Center of Military History. As a historian, focuses on creating multimedia products and short publications to include planning and conducting all phases of assignments.
Conduct historical research in order to respond to historical inquiries from the command.
Study monographs, booklets, and archival material on one or more historical topics as assigned to fulfill the Center?s multimedia publication priorities.
Coordinate and implement print and interactive multimedia collateral elements utilizing historical assets such as publications, photographs, videos, interview transcripts, archival material, and museum artifacts.
Manage projects by determining scope, from initial conceptualization through final product.

Basic Requirement for Historian:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.
Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching or developing multimedia historical products such as video scripts and lesson plans; planning projects for publication on an organizational website or social media platforms; and producing multimedia products such as publications, photographs and archival material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
