R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. has an opening for an archaeological Project Manager with a primary focus on Historical Archaeology for its New Orleans, LA office. Expertise in the historical archaeology of eastern North America and the Lower Mississippi River Valley desired. The successful candidate for this position must possess a graduate degree (M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.) in Anthropology/Archaeology and have worked in the field of CRM or have served in a similar capacity for at least three years, with at least two full calendar years of successful supervisory experience on historical archaeological projects. This position requires superior field, lab and interpersonal skills; computer, writing, and management skills; experience with report writing; experience working in urban environments; experience working with Architectural Historians; applied knowledge of Section 106 of the NHPA; and familiarity with GPS and/or GIS. Opportunities for advancement to significant management responsibilities are available for the right candidate.
This is a full time, salaried, professional position with a full benefits package (paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; health, dental, and life insurance; and a liberal 401(k) plan). The salary is competitive and commensurate with educational and professional experience. The position will require relocation to the Southeastern Louisiana/Metro New Orleans area. Some relocation expenses may be reimbursed after 6 months of satisfactory employment.
