POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Archaeologist to join our Central US Cultural Resource Management Department.
This is a full-time opportunity located in Texas for work within the Central US States (TX, LA, MS, AR, OK, KS, MO, NE, MI, IA, ND, SD). This position can be based in our Austin, Houston, Ft. Worth Baton Rouge, or Tulsa offices with the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location.
Roles and responsibilities :
Routinely perform quality assurance and quality control functions consistent with the company QA/QC protocols.
Reviewing and editing technical documents prepared by junior staff for a wide range of cultural resources projects.
Serve as project coordinators, managing projects from initiation to closeout including assisting on scopes of work, determining project staffing, and being accountable for meeting project schedules and budgets.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to prepare sound and well-written technical reports, manage project budgets and schedules, and consult successfully with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and land managing agencies.
Lead field efforts, mentor junior staff in fieldwork protocols, and provide excellent communication with the Project Management team.
Required Education/Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology, Architectural History, History, or a similar field. Master’s Degree Preferred.
5 years of professional experience/CRM experience, 2 of which include project planning, fieldwork execution, and reporting of cultural resource projects in the Central US.
Environmental regulatory experience at both the federal and state level.
A strong work ethic that demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
