The position is located at our offices in Rohnert Park, California, though travel throughout California is expected. Though the position is officially listed as “temporary” within the university, this position is full time and can be renewed annually.
Major duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work Environment: Duties will primarily take place in the field and in office settings however additional duties may be performed in various locations on and off the Sonoma State University campus, including working both indoors and outdoors. The position will require travel for field projects, by automobile and/or airplane, and the incumbent must be able to work some night and weekend hours with overnight stays.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires the equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by a course in statistics. Additional experience which has demonstrated that the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities delineated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Advanced degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, CRM, or related field preferred. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, GIS, and GPS software and systems preferred.
Salary and Benefits: Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,120 to $4,000 a month. This is a full-time, temporary, non-exempt position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
