Job Description
We are actively seeking Archaeological Field Directors to assist with critical projects in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Utah. Field Directors at PaleoWest lead field efforts on small to large projects from beginning to end, including logistics and schedules, leading fieldwork, interacting with clients, and reporting. As such, the position requires working in the office and in the field, both alone and with a team, as needed. Also required are excellent writing skills, familiarity with Colorado and other states cultural resources forms, and expertise supervising all aspects of archaeological survey, site recording and evaluations, and testing and data recovery.
 
Qualifications:

Graduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field is preferred, and at least three years of demonstrated professional experience working on and leading archaeological survey, monitoring, and data recovery projects
Experience with the archaeology and history of Colorado, Wyoming, and surrounding states
Ability to be listed as a Field Director/Crew Chief on BLM Cultural Resource Use Permits in Colorado and Wyoming
Excellent oral and written communication skills and commitment to achieving team goals
Knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to cultural resources
Demonstrated experience writing and preparing cultural resource technical reports
Demonstrated leadership abilities including providing guidance and oversight to field and office staff

Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000
