Tetra Tech is currently looking to hire a full time, permanent, and benefitted Cultural Resource Archaeological Field Director to support our Intermountain West group based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The selected person will act as a senior supervisory archaeologist working under the group Principal Investigator. Daily tasks will include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, ensuring project health and safety compliance, completing file searches, overseeing agency coordination, directing pedestrian inventory, directing site form production, and conducting technical reporting. Supervision of technical crew members, including crew chiefs, to complete assigned tasks will also be required on projects of sufficient scale. Potential projects include, but is not limited to, field inventory, monitoring, evaluative testing, and site mitigation within the states of Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Travel will be required on deployments that will range in duration from eight-day sessions to shorter time periods and day trips depending on project location and scale. For overnight travel, crew members will receive per diem based on current GSA rates and paid single occupancy hotel. Office-based work can be set up remotely and/or in the Salt Lake City office.
Qualifications: The candidate must have attended an archaeological field school and have at least four years of North American cultural resource management experience working in the western portions of the United States. The candidate must be able to qualify as a Field Director/Principal Investigator on one or more regional agency cultural resource use permits or be listed as a Field Director/Principal Investigator on certain agency project specific permits. Candidates must be able to lift 35-lbs and walk over open terrain outdoors for long time periods regardless of weather conditions.
Degree Requirements: Minimum education requirement is a Master of Arts in Anthropology/Archaeology with a concentration in North American Archaeology.
Pay Range: 31.00 to 35.00 dollars per hour. Negotiable depending on experience.
