Archaeology Field Technicians Starting at $19/hr- Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan at ASC Group, Inc. As Needed

ASC Group, Inc., is a cultural and natural resources consulting firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We have immediate openings for Archaeology Field Technicians for projects located in Ohio and neighboring states and that will be starting soon. These include a Phase III investigation of a major Fort Ancient village site and Phase I and II investigations of Woodland period sites in the Scioto Valley. Field technicians will be working under the supervision of a Field Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator. The ongoing and future projects should see work through the winter and into 2025.

The work will involve archaeological excavation (i.e., test units and units), feature documentation, mapping and profiling, shovel testing, surface survey, and screening. Phase III investigations are in heated shelters during winter months.

Minimum requirements include an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field; field school or archaeological field experience (previous work in Cultural Resource Management preferred); good organizational skills; and ability to maintain neat and accurate field notes. Pay starts at $19/hr and is based on experience. Per-diem ($41/day) and lodging is provided for all project work requiring overnight stays away from your home office.

You must provide personal PPE like gloves and boots. Other required PPE will be provided.
