Field Technician/First Environment Full Time Temporary

First Environment, Inc., a well-established environmental consulting services industry leader, is looking for a temporary Archaeological Field Technician to participate in a short-term Phase I survey in Little Falls, New Jersey. 

The fieldwork (pedestrian and shovel testing survey) is scheduled to start on September 25, 2023 and is expected to take approximately 1 week to complete.

Qualified candidates should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field
• Completion of an accredited field school
• Experience with field methodologies including mapping, shovel testing, excavation, artifact collection, and documentation
• Ability to work outside on uneven terrain and in various weather conditions for long periods
• Ability to carry equipment up to 40 lbs
• Reliable transportation / a valid driver’s license
• A high degree of self-motivation

Pay starts at $22/hour and will be commensurate with the level of experience. Government per diem.
