First Environment, Inc., a well-established environmental consulting services industry leader, is looking for a temporary Archaeological Field Technician to participate in a short-term Phase I survey in Little Falls, New Jersey.
The fieldwork (pedestrian and shovel testing survey) is scheduled to start on September 25, 2023 and is expected to take approximately 1 week to complete.
Qualified candidates should possess:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field
Completion of an accredited field school
Experience with field methodologies including mapping, shovel testing, excavation, artifact collection, and documentation
Ability to work outside on uneven terrain and in various weather conditions for long periods
Ability to carry equipment up to 40 lbs
Reliable transportation / a valid driver’s license
A high degree of self-motivation
Pay starts at $22/hour and will be commensurate with the level of experience. Government per diem.
