This is a part-time position with the Office of the Wyoming State Archaeologist and fulfills duties related to Wyoming Statute 7-4-106 Archaeological Human Burial Sites.

Field recovery of archaeological human remains
Laboratory analysis of archaeological human remains
Reporting of archaeological human remains
Consultation regarding and reinternment of archaeological human remains
Curation of objects recovered from archaeological human remains
Compilation and maintenance of an archaeological human remains database for Wyoming
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with a Master's degree or higher in anthropology, including an archaeological field school or equivalent experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of human osteology, biological anthropology, and/or forensic anthropology
Ability to perform archaeological fieldwork; knowledge of the archaeological record of the Great Plains and/or the Rocky Mountains Ability to conduct standard bioarchaeological laboratory analyses
Ability to write technical reports
Competency in GIS mapping software and Microsoft Access or a comparable relational database
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Archaeology)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Archaeology) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Archaeologist I OR Education & Experience Substitution: 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Archaeology) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Archaeologist I
