Field Technicians Needed for Projects (Ph I/II) in the Mid-Atlantic
Applied Archaeology and History Associates, Inc. (AAHA), a small, woman-owned cultural resources consulting firm located in Crofton, Maryland, has immediate openings for archaeological field technicians for upcoming projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Fieldwork anticipated to begin 10/31/2022. Two full-weeks of work guaranteed with further employment possible on a project-to-project basis.
A standard 40-hour work week (Mon – Fri) can be expected.
Lodging and per diem provided for out-of-town hires.
Wages $18-20/hour commensurate with experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum B.A./B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
Previous field experience in CRM project environments
Possess a working knowledge of standard excavation methods, demonstrate attention to detail and be able to maintain accurate field records
Be able to traverse overgrown areas and/or difficult terrain with up to 40 lbs. of equipment
Be able to work consistently in open spaces under variable weather conditions, lift five gallon-sized buckets of soil
Have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and a cell phone.
Ability to use verbal and written communication to listen, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with crew members and supervisory staff
