International Archaeological Research Institute, Inc., an equal opportunity employer, seeks a full-time, Archaeology Project Director for its Honolulu office. The position is classified as Exempt. A graduate degree in anthropology with specialization in archaeology or in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of project management and CRM experience required. Pacific Islands or Asian archaeology experience and osteological/bioarchaeological experience will be viewed favorably. Must have a valid U.S. passport and U.S. driver’s license, and must be able to pass a background check for access to military installations. Position involves conducting fieldwork and supervising archaeology crews, report writing, overseeing laboratory analyses, and general project oversight. Applicant should have computer skills (Microsoft and Adobe software), basic GPS/GIS proficiency, a good sense of organization, problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, a strong determination to maintain project schedules, and a willingness to work as part of a team. Project work primarily on O‘ahu, though working on other Hawaiian Islands and in other parts of the Pacific is required.

Annual starting salary range is over $70,000 commensurate with position and experience of the applicant; benefits include healthcare insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and a retirement program. IARII will provide airfare and partial relocation compensation for an off-island hire.
